Home Phone - Changing lives till date

This is a blog about home phones. A Home phone is a physical connection between two telecommunication devices. The term is most frequently used to refer to a telephone, differentiating it from a wireless phone, which transmits a signal through a series of relay towers.

Home phones have been a part of our life for a long time. They are simply of great convenience to us and have brought a lot of ease to day to day communication. Land lines were the prototypes of telephones which led to the revolutionary breakthrough of telecommunications. After land lines, there has been a range of several hybrids of telephones. These days, they come in all shapes and sizes. Different colours and styles of phones have flooded the market. Now, it is not just a mere telephone for the purpose of communicating but is a way you express yourself.

I found home phone a very useful device, as by having a home phone we can be in touch with our nears and dears. The best thing about a home phone is that we can talk to any one in the world easily.

Home phones are not what they used to be, as now you can do much more with them, like now you can have video conference, conference calling with multiple lines, and enjoy the facility of a built-in answering machines and intercom. Three way calling has also given a new experience in distant communications. Now, you can talk with two of your friends ornears and dears at the same time creating a great experience. Moreover, it is an essential feature for business people as they can have their meetings and conferences in the comfort of their office rather than taking the trouble to travel to places, saving time and money.

When I wanted to buy a home phone, I found out that there are large number of home phone providers in the UK, like British Telecom, ATS Voice Ltd, Digiweb, Skytel.etc. These service providers provide various plans, and you can opt for the plans according to your own need. There are also some plans in which you get some free calling minutes.

In some countries, a home phone is still considered as the main phone line for a house or business, and people may exchange multiple phone numbers with each other to facilitate communication. People who experience patchy mobile service may tell people to call back “on a land line” to continue a conversation.

One of the most obvious benefits to a home phone is almost guaranteed service fidelity. While cell phone service has improved drastically in recent years, reception nonetheless remains spotty in some areas, including some people’s homes. Moreover, cell phone coverage is sometimes intermittent; so that a house that one day has perfect cell phone reception may the next not get service at all. On a day-to-day level, this may occur infrequently enough that it isn’t a huge deal, but when an important business call needs to be made, or a call drops out in the middle of a heart-to-heart with a long-lost friend, you might find yourself wishing for the stability of a home phone.
